Fort Wayne Restaurant Critic Offers Best Places and Dishes
Bistro Nota, 620 S. Calhoun St. – A hidden gem just around the corner from the Landing, its small menu had no throwaways as most everything was above board. It had a great vibe thanks to its charming staff and I often find myself suggesting it as a dining option whenever someone asks.
Nota salad, Bistro Nota – This wonderful blend of crunchy iceberg lettuce, charred corn and roasted red peppers enrobed in a delectable buttermilk dressing and topped with house croutons and grated Parmesan was a Midwestern masterpiece that will remind you of something you once had at a family pitch-in if your family consisted of talented modern chefs.
Blondie, Bistro Nota – This dessert featured two warm, rich, thick, circle-shaped bars stacked on top of each other drizzled with a caramel-like warm toffee sauce that was the best part of it. It also had a dollop of mascarpone cheese sitting on top, which looked like a tiny scoop of ice cream and sort of melted and melded with the toffee sauce just like ice cream would.
It's hard to avoid superlative when talking about Bistro Nota, but I'll try. Comfortable and under control. Casual while professional. Priced right and generous portions. We tend to over-order because everything is so good and it travels well. Nicely curated wine list. Tons of good places in Fort Wayne and this one stays at the top of our list.
Talk about a place I should have come to when I first saw it. Bistro Nota is simply to die for! We all tried something different so we could share. It was so hard to choose. Everything we ordered was absolutely delicious, cooked as it should be and seasoned perfectly. Our server was knowledgeable and attentive. The atmosphere is industrial, yet warm and inviting. Now serving Brunch from 12-2, and you don't want to miss out. We can't wait to go back for dinner. Thank you for an amazing dining experience!!!
Honestly some of the best food I have ever had. We will definitely be back! Our waitress was so friendly and knowledgeable about every dish, very clean atmosphere, and ambience was superb.

Where to start, the food, the food makes me cuss it’s so good. I had the braised short rib, and it tastes like fall on a plate, perfect. The people are nice and friendly and happy and thus the service and experience are excellent. The decor is clean and modern and simple. This might be the best place to eat in the Fort.
We’ve been here several times and it has quickly become our favorite restaurant. Everything we’ve tried is absolutely delicious and the staff is always friendly and helpful.

So delicious! We split their beef teres major and their Mac and cheese and it was a perfect amount for dinner with a dessert. They make their own focaccia bread which was toasted beautifully and will definitely bring us back! The waitstaff was wonderful and we were able to get in and out before our show at the embassy without feeling rushed. All in all a wonderful date night out!

Beef Teres Major, Bistro Mac & Cheese
My wife and I go to a lot of restaurants around the city. We have a few places that we feel are really worth the extra dollars, but not many. Bistro Nota is the best restaurant in town hands down. The menu is small but everything is perfect. My wife is one of those people that "only eats the parts she likes" when it comes to food, so almost never completely finishes a plate. However, last night she ate every bite of her food. The Cajun shrimp and sausage dish is my absolute favorite pasta in the city.
You will not be disappointed here. The two chefs are the owners and you can tell they really put a lot of care into their food.

My new favorite restaurant! The short ribs are tender with a crispy crust on the outside, flavorful demi glace. The carrots are cooked to perfection and the polenta is like eating a delicious cloud. The foccacia was amazing. The blondie was perfect! I will be back!
I had my first meal with you Fri. 11/4. I have to say, everything was outstanding and interesting. My friend and I ordered 3 small plates and the Mac and cheese. The Brussels sprouts were outstanding without being fried. The gnocchi and pastas were cooked perfectly. And the house wines (I had both the white and red) paired nicely with everything. Hailey was a delight. We’ll be back soon, and I hope there will be a brunch menu in the future.
The food was amazing! Megan our server was just as fantastic. Local hidden gem. Make reservations to sit outside and hear the music from the landing but relax because it isnt to loud. I rarely get desserts at place but you don't want to miss the blonde! Pricing and portions where spot on!
What a wonderful place! Our supper club went there Saturday night and everyone loved it! I had the Braised Boneless Beef Short Ribs and it was the best I've ever had! My wife and a couple others had the Creole Shrimp Pasta, which I tried also and it was amazing as well, loved the different flavors when trying this dish. Our waitress was really friendly and very helpful with the menu as most of us hadn't been there before. Will definitely be going back again!!
Not many meals make me stop bite after bite to appreciate the moment. The whole meal was lovely and was truly the best dinner I have experienced in life. Thank you for an amazing evening and we look forward to returning soon!

Yummy!! The creole pasta was absolutely Devine. The shrimp in the pasta were cooked to perfection as was the pasta. The steak was also cooked to perfection. After the amazing meal we had to try all the desserts! So amazing! Will add this to our favorites of Fort Wayne Dining!
